A boy

The baby in the womb is a boy. After 20 weeks of pregnancy, we finally have a chance to check his gender. He’s still very small, his weight is only 362 gr at present. He seems to be active, kicking, waving and sucking his finger (or is he singing by holding a microphone?). The doctor said that he seems to be healthy.

It’s amazing…we’re really happy and grateful to have him following us until now. He was already in the womb when we’re travelling to Bordeaux, Lourdes and Amsterdam. We found out about his presence only 1 week before we left Madrid for Bangkok. Hopefully all will go well in the future and he will keep being healthy. Our life is changing.

Life is not fair

The Bangkok Post reported that about 300 angry residents in the Ayutthaya province have prevented irrigation workers from blocking the natural flow of a river in their region because they don’t want to suffer furthermore as the government try really hard to spare Bangkok from current flood. The residents said that they have sacrified too much for Bangkok residents and they cannot take it any more.

It has to admitted that Bangkok residents have been lucky so far because they are well-protected. There are 3 layers of protection walls to prevent the flood water from inundating the capital. But, this exclusive protection enjoyed by Bangkok residents come with a price to those in the north, east and western provinces bordering the metropolitan. Some people in Bangkok can still enjoy their lifestyle, visiting shopping malls and so on, while the residents in the areas affected by the flood have to save their lifes.

It is understandable if people outside the metropolitan are angry, because they have been made to suffer to protect others. However, preventing flood from reaching Bangkok is also important because this is the capital of the country, the centre of business and economic activities of significant influence to the whole nation. The government have to make a choice, unfortunately the chosen option is not the best one for some. It is unfair to those living outside Bangkok. Life is not fair.

David Carradine – R.I.P

David Carradine, 72, was found dead in a wardrobe of a hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand, while filming his latest movie called “Strecth”. The “Kung Fu” actor was naked when he was found, with a rope/cord around his neck and “other parts” of his body.

Speculations about the cause of his death arised, he either took his own life or somehow had an accident while performing sexual acts. El Pais published today that the Director of Forensic Unit of the Chulalongkorn Hospital believed that his death is “unusual” and “not normal”. In his opinion, the evidences suggested that David Carrdine’s death is related to “sexual accident”.

Regardless the cause of his death, David Carradine is one of the actors I watched regularly on TV while he was still performing in his Kung Fu TV series. His role as Kwai Chang, a half Asian and half westerner kung fu hero who always solves every problems and saves people really captured my imagination. It is a pity that his death has to be in this way, probably leaving some bad taste to his fans and bad publicity for his family.

Rest in Peace David Carradine!
