MINARWAN was born in Bangka Island and grew up in a small town near the southern coast of the island. He was born in an ordinary family that had to work hard to earn money for daily life due to his parents’ lack of education and large families. Despite many struggles during his childhood, his parents always encourage him and his younger brother and sister to study hard.

Minarwan is a petroleum geologist by education and training. He used to work for a company called Premier Oil in Jakarta, Indonesia, after his graduation from Gadjah Mada University in Jogjakarta. Minarwan also has post-graduate degrees from Oxford Brookes University, England, and Monash University, Australia.

Minarwan currently works for Pearl Energy in Bangkok, Thailand.
